Dust precipitation thanks to a spraying system
One of our customers had a dust problem. PCA developed a solution in which a high-pressure spraying system causes the dust to precipitate. The high pressure results in very fine droplets, a kind of fog that causes a lot of contact with the dust particles. The dust particles are captured by the droplets because of impact, interception and diffusion. In other words, the finer the droplets, the larger the contact area and the greater the efficiency of the system. In order to avoid clogging of the high-pressure pipe, the misting system was provided with softened water. The droplets absorb the substances in the air and eventually precipitate against the droplet separators or under gravitation. Finally, low pressure nozzles are used for cleaning the droplet separators. This allows us to reduce maintenance as much as possible.
